Modeling Residential Electricity Consumption Function in Malaysia: Time Series Approach
As the Malaysian residential electricity consumption continued to increase rapidly, effective energy policies, which address factors affecting residential electricity consumption, is urgently needed. This study attempts to investigate the relationship between residential electricity consumption (EC), real disposable income (Y), price of electricity (Pe) and population (Po) in Malaysia for 1978-...
متن کاملHausdorff clustering of financial time series
A clustering procedure is introduced based on the Hausdorff distance as a similarity measure between clusters of elements. The method is applied to the financial time series of the Dow Jones industrial average (DJIA) index to find companies that share a similar behavior. Comparisons are made with other linkage algorithms. r 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
متن کاملAnalyzing Residential Electricity Consumption Patterns Based on Consumer’s Segmentation
The identification of energy consumption patterns contributes for the tailoring of energy efficiency solutions. This paper contributes to this issue by addressing the characterization of electricity consumption data with 15 min sampling of twenty two households, in Lisbon. The consumers have been segmented according to: social class, contracted power, number of rooms, family size and type of ta...
متن کاملElectricity Prices, Income and Residential Electricity Consumption
In recent years, aiming to reduce the Greenhouse Gas pollution and promote energy efficiency and conservation among consumers’ energy use, price policies and price changes derived from environmental regulations have played a more important role. In this paper, using the most recent annual state-level panel data for 48 states, I estimate a dynamic partial adjustment model for electricity demand ...
متن کاملDynamical clustering of interval data : optimization of an adequacy criterion based on Hausdorff distance
In order to extend the dynamical clustering algorithm to interval data sets, we define the prototype of a cluster by optimization of a classical adequacy criterion based on Hausdorff distance. Once this class prototype properly defined we give a simple and converging algorithm for this new type of interval data.
